Birmingham Bound for a Southern Weekend

What do you want to do when you are with a couple of your best friends for a girls weekend in the South?  Well there was food and drinks, exploring in the cold that I managed to bring south with me, a half marathon and more food!  This is the weekend via iPhones...

We didn't start with coffee, but there is always coffee with these ladies...delicious and pretty coffee at Urban Standard Friday afternoon.

We may have started our Saturday at Rojo with some yummy Mexican brunch and a pitcher of mimosas...

Meghan has the cutest kitchen and I wish I could have baked in it...but she did cook us up a delicious pre-race pasta dinner.

Here goes nothing...mile 0.

Of course I had to take pictures while running...were running by the Alabama Theater!...actually about mile 3.

We ran all over the city, downtown and through neighborhoods...just a quick shot of downtown Birmingham.

We finished!!  Check out this awesome sign my co-worker made us...plus Meghan is totally rocking The Academy hat.  We are not holding the sign ourselves because we are currently freezing cold. For serious though it was in the low 20's when we started and only 34 degrees when we finished.

...and then proceeded to stuff our faces with pancakes, eggs and blue grits at Over Easy.  The perfect ending to a great weekend!
